Brooke Barkley, FNP-C was born and raised in Charlotte, NC before obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2012. She then completed her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2014, and worked as an RN for UNC Hospitals for 3 years. She completed her Masters in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2018. She has been working in primary care since then, in Charlotte and then in Raleigh.
She enjoys the diversity of primary care and the opportunity to have different experiences every day. She is especially interested in health maintenance, management of chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol, and mental health.
She spends her free time traveling, hiking, and relaxing with her husband, dog, and young son.
Brooke will begin seeing patients at Family Care in August 2023!
